Why Should I Volunteer for Elgin Fringe?

What Volunteer Roles Are Needed?

• VENUE SUPPORT
  – Greet attendees, provide directions, and take tickets.
  – Support the venue manager as needed.
  – Serve in 2-hour shifts.
  – Get to see the show you’re working!
  – PERKS: Get a Fringe Festival Entry Button + earn Fringe Bucks for each shift!
   

• BILLETER/HOUSING
  – House a visiting out-of-town performer on a couch or air mattress.
  – PERKS: 2 Festival Passes & Buttons, PLUS $25 in Fringe Bucks!

What Are Fringe Bucks? 

• Earned through volunteering, Elgin Fringe Bucks are a fun way to purchase artwork, performance and event tickets, and merchandise at Fringe Central, MADE Art Retail, and Side Street Studio Arts.

• Volunteers earn $5 in Elgin Fringe Bucks for every two-hour shift worked.

• Fringe Bucks are good beyond the festival and can be redeemed through December 31, 2026.

• Fringe Bucks cannot be redeemed for alcohol.

• Artists and performers still receive their full share for Fringe Buck purchases, with Side Street Studio Arts covering the difference.

You will be able to sign up for your shifts based on your availability!
