A lovely and brave performance by a lovely and brave woman. Lauren's ability to be both vulnerable and strong is a tremendous asset and the heart of this show. Please go see it! You'll hate yourself if you miss out.

Sometimes life offers you a complex harsh obstacle. Many would be aided by seeing this true storytelling of personal fortitude. How we interpret life is the key. How we see the future smacks us in the face often. Lauren, not knowing how her story will affect each listener, can be assured that this listener felt hope, that life can and will be lived with optimism, not gloom.

I can't believe I forgot to leave a review of this show! Storytelling when combined with awareness raising can sometimes be a dicey prospect. You have the responsibility of educating an audience while at the same time remaining emotionally true to your story. Deal breaker manages to walk that line very expertly. In an hour, Lauren takes us through some of the most personal history I've seen in a Fringe show. It comes across as doubly intimate because, as she notes many times, this is not a subject you see addressed that often in the arts. Kudos to Lauren Lee and her awesome show.
