Elgin Fringe Festival – Visual Arts Opening Reception

Start your Fringe experience early at the Visual Arts Opening Reception, the very first event of the 2025 Elgin Fringe Festival. This lively evening invites you to explore a colorful mix of paintings, photography, sculpture, and mixed-media works from artists near and far. The exhibition is uncurated and chosen by lottery, which means you’ll see a wide range of perspectives and unexpected surprises.

Mingle with the artists, hear the stories behind their work, and enjoy the buzz of the gallery as the month-long celebration of Fringe gets underway. It’s a relaxed, come-as-you-are atmosphere that’s perfect for connecting with creativity and community.

The reception kicks off a full slate of festival fun throughout September, including free outdoor performances, more than 90 ticketed shows, and events throughout downtown Elgin.

Admission is just $4 for a Festival Entry Button, which gives you access to the exhibition all month long, plus the ability to buy tickets to 2025 Elgin Fringe performances.
