Vision Blender

Hey, I'm Bobby Rowland and this piece is titled Vision Blender. It is an acoustic guitar that I've had for over twenty years, and I've never really been a guitar player. I don't really know how to play guitar, but I can play chords and whatnot. And so I always, um, brought it with me everywhere I've lived. And, uh, this one time I got a big old paint splatter on it and it looked like a bat hanging upside down. And so I just like let it dry and told myself, I'm gonna paint a bat on this guitar because like, I never play it, but it would be super cool to be painted. And, um, that would just be fun. And so I just kept bringing it with me everywhere I was moving because it was always like a project that I told myself that I would be, that I would do at some point. And it never happened, never happened. And then last year, randomly, I just got inspired to do it. And so I started, um, messing with it. And I didn't really like the way the bat was looking, but I was like, I still want to incorporate a bat somehow. And, um, I was playing with it and I, it's, I started seeing kind of like these ghoul faces, kind of like a crypt keeper sort of look. And I, I don't know, I liked the idea of that. There was like, like a, like a spooky storyteller on a guitar. You know, there's like, you think of people like sitting around a campfire, like somebody grabs a guitar and maybe, you know, like just captivating everyone while they're sitting around the fire and telling stories. And, uh, I don't know, it just sort of, it just sort of gripped me. I liked the way that, that, that looked on there. So I was developing these faces and, um, I started, I found a way to have the bats make their, their debut, like have the, the source of the inspiration on there, just kind of squeaking by through all these ghoul faces. And I've always really been into the like a vintage horror look, like vintage horror comics is I'm really into that. I like that style. Huge fan of Frank Frazetta. Um, I don't know, it just it was, it felt right. And it came together pretty quick. And I loved how the faces were looking and, um, yeah, it felt, it felt appropriate. And so I, I went with that and then gave it a cool, like nice epoxy clear coat on top and made all the colors pop. And it just, it felt like just official. It felt cool. And so I, um, had a friend of mine helped me bring it back up and bought a cool strap for it and it was like, awesome. Here it is. It's finally done. So cool to see a project that I've been carrying with me for two decades finally get finished. And uh, yeah, I'm pretty happy with it how it turned out. Thanks for listening.
