Adam Grewenig:  [The rug] is  about a 30 by 40 inch. It's yarn that's been tufted through a cloth fabric. It's multicolored—I mean, you've got every color from pink to purples all the way down to greys, browns, yellows, oranges in a very geometric pattern.

Tanner Melvin: Great. What is it—is it thicker, is it thinner? If you were to touch it or run your hand over it, what would it feel like?

Adam Grewenig: It's definitely plush. I spend quite a lot of my time when I'm doing them doing what you call carving, where I'm just taking what you would shave someone's head with type of thing, and I actually carve out the yarn to give it a 3D effect.

Tanner Melvin: Oh, wow. So it's a blade you use to carve down, and you made those lines in it? The lines that go horizontal or up or angular, right?

Adam Grewenig: Yeah, horizontal and diagonal lines going through it.

Tanner Melvin: And you did that manually with a carver. Wow, that's amazing. I didn't even think about that.

Adam Grewenig: It's meant to be touched. So when people come see it, they can come rub their hands all over it and feel it for themselves.
