Traction

Hey, I'm Bobby Rowland, and this piece is titled Traction. This is a painting I made after a pretty big change in my life, a huge shift, and I was sort of at a loss for what to do next. And it felt like there was a million choices before me, and I didn't really completely know what I was gonna do. Um, and I just knew that I needed to do something. And I thought more about how, you know, every, all the decisions we make seem to lead to other things. I mean, obviously, but also a lot of things that you can't see in the moment of feeling very confused and, um, at a loss, you know, it's, it's very easy to feel like you want to give up. Um, and at a time like that, but, you know, you, it's always just important to take that first step. So that's where this character is. He's, um, he's leaving a base that was comfortable and safe for a really long time And, you know, amidst all these other this other chaos happening around him, um, and it, uh, he's just ready to move. So he's making his decisions and maybe like thinking too hard about it in the process. 

And you know, how that can, you know, you, it's very, it's really easy to think nothing will change. And so you start kind of creating a whole other world in your mind, separate from what's actually happening. And, you know, it can be a good or a bad thing. And so, you know, it's just about like the confidence in yourself to, to keep going. And also the kind of strange mystery of the way things unfold. And like, you never really know. And so it's just about that just being, just being excited about the path you're on and, and not letting yourself not letting your mind, um, stop you from making decisions because yeah, there's always things going on that maybe we're not completely aware of, but we're a part of it.
