Sophie+Jenoa

Hello, this is Kathryn Fredrickson, the artist who created the piece Sophie and Genoa for the twenty twenty six Elgin Fringe Festival. I'd like to tell you a little bit more about what I've created. There are two components in this piece. One is an acrylic painting. The other is a large piece of felt with very many smaller pieces of felt hand sewn onto it. What I was trying to do was recreate the feeling I had made in this swirly painting, and try to see what would happen if I did it, and felt. You might notice there are some pieces of felt on the acrylic piece, and this is what we might consider one of those happy little accidents. Because my screwdriver went through my canvas when I was attaching the hardware, but it turned out okay.
