Contemplation

Contemplation. I seemed to be compelled to sculpt this round, blue figure in various situations. He’s mostly a head, with very thin arms and legs. His “skin” is covered in a rough, bumpy texture.  In this situation, the figure sits in a contemplative pose with a peaceful look on his face. His hands are up as though he has them raised to an imagined greater power. Rather than sitting directly on the ground, he “floats” above a crater scared “moon”. In order to create the floating “illusion”, translucent (and glow in the dark) polymer clay was used to create whisps of smoke that support the figure. Above his two closed eyes is an open “third eye” with more of the glow in the dark clay showing a burst of extended light as though he has attained a greater understanding of the universe.
