Beauty in Destruction series #2

My name is Sara Peak Convery. I have three photos from a series called Beauty in Destruction. Each photo is in a plain pine wood frame about sixteen by twenty inches with a white mat. The location for the photos was High Top Mountain in the Shenandoah area of Virginia. The abstract shapes and curves compelled me as I photographed the denuded tree trunks in November of twenty twenty four. The images are close ups of the channels created by emerald ash borer under the bark of the trees. The images appear to be abstract, yet some faces and figurative elements appear. The overall tone is mostly a light reddish brown. For me, they are a perfect example of the beautiful created by destruction.
